Governmental Liability:
Charter Schools and the Government Claims Act

    ACR 49 (Evans), enacted as Resolution Chapter 98 of the Statutes of 2009, authorized the Commission to study and analyze the legal and policy implications of treating a charter school as a public entity for the purposes of Division 3.6, commencing with Section 810, of Title 1 of the Government Code ("Government Claims Act"). A due date for the study has not been established.
